Tuesday 17 May
We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves at our Opening Day of Wairoa Netball. It was very exciting to watch it all unfold before us and our Community. We had a couple of minor teething issues but we have addressed these so we are hoping that it is smooth sailing from here on out. We would like to welcome our teams who was not at our Opening Ceremony, Waikaremoana, St Joseph, Mana Rangatahi and Wairoa Primary 6. Nau mai haere mai!!
Saturday 14th May was a grading round. Saturday 21st May is the beginning of our competition
We are very fortunate to have TAHURI MAI on board to 'support' our Wairoa umpires this season. We understand teams/ coaches/ parent support do not have the confidence to umpire and blow the whistle hence why Wairoa Netball and Tahuri Mai have created this buddy system. To help, build confidence and support our Schools coming through. We do not expect a Silver Fern umpire performance, we expect a safe environment, and we are learning the basics of netball through the rules of netball.
When your team is rostered to umpire please meet at the officials table 5 minutes prior in order to collect your score card and meet your experienced umpire buddy. That buddy will umpire their half of the game and then shadow you through your half of the court to assist. If your team would like to purchase an umpire to cover your game this can be arrange for a small fee of $5, this money will go directly to the covering umpire.
Coach/ Parent Help must check their teams in 20 minutes before your game, please do not send all your players up to check in, it can get very congested at the table.
Unfortunately we do not have gazebos for players and teams however we encourage schools to come along and put their School gazebo up.
If you require an invoice for fees, these will be emailed out in the coming days.
If you have not completed your registration names on the google drive shared by Jo Doyle please do so asap.
We have bibs available to 'HIRE', these are $5 per set. Please see the table early if you require a set for your game.
A scoreboard will be on display so everyone can see the draw and scores after every match.
Duty Teams are responsible of picking up all the rubbish, lost property, on the court area, grass area and carpark. They are also responsible for the pack down of Wairoa Netball gazebo and chairs, wheeling of goal post.
Sports Co-ordinators please communicate with your volunteers, coaches and parent helpers, you are all doing an awesome job. Please follow WAIROA NETBALL on facebook for more information
